Escher Time

Matera, Italy is one of the oldest continually inhabited places in the world, and the Escher-like maze of steps, stairs, and walkways provided a perfect place to capture this image of the same person walking on different parts of the adjoining stairs. By holding the camera very steady and taking several images of the subject walking through the scene, I was able to take different images and blend them together to capture the same person at different places in space and time. We never spoke, and I never saw them again.
