On the banks of the Danube River in Budapest across from one of the largest and most opulent houses of parliament in the world, I noticed this sanitation worker going about his work ignored by the many visitors taking pictures of the view. The art of Hungary has a long history of paying tribute to the working class, so it was fitting for me to capture him performing his duties, with a clear symbol of power and affluence in the background. His contribution to society and this important site is indeed unseen, but a photograph can change that and reveal the meaning in his work.
